Children of all ages can really benefit from playing tennis. Not only as an outlet for their boundless energy, but also from the discipline of learning a sport and the social interaction of the game. At Limpsfield LTC juniors are very welcome and we teach children from around 4 years right up to adulthood to play tennis.

Junior Coaching

Our coaches offer an enjoyable, structural, skills based junior tennis programme that caters for all ages from 3-18 years and all abilities. Our mini tennis programme is designed to suit players from the ages of 4-10 years and is split into 3 levels. Our sessions are skills based and played on the appropriate court size using different pressurised balls to help with the child's progression.

These sessions are indoors and outdoors played on a small sized tennis court, with soft tennis balls and smaller mini rackets. These sessions are played on a smaller tennis court (half the size of a full court) with orange balls (medium bounce) with a simple scoring system.  These sessions are played on full-sized tennis court using green balls (medium to high bounce) with normal scoring system but shorter games per set.
These sessions are played on a full-sized court with normal tennis balls & normal scoring system.

Agility, balance drills and coordination will be covered in all sessions preparing our juniors for game situations.

Our tennis coaching team includes Richard Enderby. Our tennis coaches hold LTA licences, part of which includes a CRB check.

We run a coach-led junior club mix-in session for our junior members on Saturday mornings (9:00-10:30am) for 6-12yrs. Juniors have priority on courts 2 & 3. Limpsfield also enters a number of junior teams into the LTA County Tournaments. For more information or if your child is interested in playing in a club team please speak to one of the coaches. Please note only club members can play in a club team.

As a club member juniors can also participate in other club-arranged activities. A number of activities will be arranged throughout the year. Please keep an eye on the coaching notice board for information.

Junior Tennis Holiday Camps

The club also runs a programme of enjoyable and instructional tennis camps during the school holidays.

Fitness

Tennis is an energetic sport which requires a reasonable level of fitness.  If a player has any health or fitness problems, or any medical condition, then please ensure that the coach is informed at the first session. Naturally every care is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the players.  However, as in any sport, injuries can occur and it is important that parents are aware of this.
