Zumba Sessions are held on Thursday mornings in the Sports Hall. These sessions are run by Kerry Brackpool and are open to members and non-members.
Zumba is a Colombian dance-fitness programme created by dancer and choreographer Alberto "Beto" Perez during the 1990s. Zumba combines dance with aerobics. The dance moves are based on a variety of Latin styles. The dance-fitness programme uses the principles of resistance training and fitness interval-training to increase caloric output and all-body toning. Combining easy dance steps within a fitness programme helps those who don't normally like exercise to enjoy it. Most people, once they get started on the Zumba fitness path, become addicted to the programme.
